Sometimes, randomly, when you’re driving, you throw on your turn signal and it feels like it’s blinking too fast. So, to experiment, you switch it to the opposite side, and it blinks normally. Burned Out Bulbs Make Your Blinkers Go Faster

There are a few reasons that this frustrating phenomenon can occur, but 95% of the time, it’s a burned-out exterior light. Other reasons include a poor connection to a bulb, moisture inside the light assembly, and general electrical gremlins. So, if this is happening to you, turn on your blinker to the fast side, get out of your vehicle, and check the front and back end. If all lights appear functional, try switching on the high beams. Also, make sure to step on the brakes and have someone check for you. Something stable and heavy will work if you don’t have a helper. Just make sure to put the car in park first.

How to Fix It

Luckily, changing a light bulb in a car is quite easy. Make sure the vehicle is off, disconnect the battery, and pop out the light assembly (this is the most difficult part). Then it’s just a matter of pulling out the old bulb and slotting in a new one. While it might seem intimidating, its not much different that changing a bulb in your house or apartment.
