Performance Specs
The naturally aspirated turbocharged Skyactiv-G 2.5L four-cylinder engine returns for select models, but will include a new Engine Harmonics Enhancer (EHE) that helps it reach an impressive 250 horsepower and 320 lb ft of torque. This is a boost of 10 lb ft of torque over the 2019 CX-5. The EHE also brings the emissions down to ULEV70.
New Features
Off-road traction assist is a new feature for the 2020 CX-5. It replaces the traction control button present in the 2019 model. When the diagonal wheels lose traction, it will assist by ceasing torque throttling and increasing brake force on traction-less wheels. Basically, this transfers power to wheels still touching ground, helping the CX-5 regain traction and continue normal driving operation.
Increased Comfort
Mazda has been hard at work to reduce the already low cabin noise and vibration. Couple that with refined engine noise thanks to the EHE, and the 2020 CX-5 might just turn out to be best driving experience you can get from an SUV in 2020.
