2020 Miata Performance Specs
The 2020 MX-5 Miata comes with a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. This is true for each trim, whether you pick the Sport, Club, or Grand Touring. While the 2020 Miata comes standard with a buttery smooth six-speed manual with short-throw shifter, it can be switched out for a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Either way, it delivers that legendary Miata driving experience all while retaining excellent fuel economy. Those with the manual can expect 26-city/34-highway mpg; the automatic has almost identical numbers, with 26-city /35-highway mpg.
2020 Miata Updates
It wouldn’t be a new model year if there wasn’t some upgrades. The 2020 Miata has the i-Activsense safety suite standard. That means every 2020 Miata will now have forward-collision warning, automated emergency brkaing, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning. The cosmetics get a small update with a new keyfob, updated badging font, and new colors, both interior and exterior. Perhaps our favorite update is that Grand Touring trim will now inherit the sport suspension and limited-slip rear differential from the Club trim. Previous models required you to choose between driver experience and luxury. That’s no longer necessary.
