The 2021 Mazda3 Sedan has more powertrain options than ever before. There are three engines to pick from: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, and a 2.5-liter turbo-four. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder produces 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. It’s only available on the base model 2.0 trim. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder returns from previous years for the 2.5 S, Select, Preferred, and Premium trims. It produces 187 horses and 186 lb-ft of torque. Most excitingly, the new 2.5 Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus trims have the 2.5-liter turbo-four. With premium fuel, it produces 250 horses and 320 lb-ft of torque.

Safety Suite

Each 2021 Mazda3 Sedan has the Mazda iActivsense, running the gamut from 2.0 trim through to the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. The iActivsense suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, a driver drowsiness monitor, and a rearview camera. Higher trims have more features, like blind-spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, adaptive headlights, and a heads-up display.
