The 2020 Mazda3 comes in both sedan and hatchback variants. The Mazda3 sedan has four trims, three of which have AWD availability. The hatchback has three trims, all of which can be purchased with AWD. Here’s a list with of all the Mazda3 models with their MSRPs:

  • Mazda3 Sedan Select AWD – $24,100
  • Mazda3 Sedan Preferred AWD – $25,600
  • Mazda3 Sedan Premium AWD – $27,900
  • Mazda3 Hatchback Base AWD – $25,100
  • Mazda3 Hatchback Preferred AWD – $26,600
  • Mazda3 Hatchback Premium AWD – $28,900

In the US, AWD drivetrains are only available with the 6-speed automatic transmission.

What is i-ACTIV AWD?

The i-ACTIV AWD system is the Mazda proprietary dynamic drivetrain. It monitors multiple things simultaneously, like the wheel slippage, dynamic stability control, power steering, acceleration, braking, wiper speed, and temperature. When the i-ACTIV system detects the right combination of factors, it automatically calculates the amount of torque needed to counteract the slippage. It does this almost instantaneously, sending the perfect amount of power to the rear axle.
