At the time of this writing, there’s no shortage of music going down in Milwaukee; Summerfest is in full swing, and the performances are not letting anyone down. However, nothing last forever, and the annual festival is going to be over in a few days. Does that mean Wisconsin’s largest city is going to fall silent for the rest of the summer?

Of course not! Music in Milwaukee never stops; in fact, there’s usually so much going on that it can be hard to choose. To help, we picked out a few highlights of the summer 2019 music scene sure to keep your ears pleased and your feet moving.

311

When? Tuesday, July 9th from 8:00 until 11:59 pm
Where? The Rave / Eagles Club, 2401 W. Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee WI

311 will be delivering their unique blend of rock, reggae, and funk to the eager ears of listeners inhabiting popular venue “The Rave” later this July. Though their first album came out back in 1993, 311 has been steadily releasing albums right up to the present year.

Rhythm & Blooms Free Summer Concert

When? Thursday nights from July 11th until August 15th, from to 6 to 8:30 pm
Where? Green Tree Community Garden, 6767 N 60th Street, Milwaukee WI

Each Thursday will feature a different band providing a free jam out in the Green Tree Community Garden. Bring chairs, blankets, food, and beverages if you desire. Most nights will also have a food truck available. Check out the full schedule here.

Evanescence

When? Wednesday, July 17th from 7:30 until 11:59 pm
Where? The Rave / Eagles Club, 2401 W. Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee WI

The Gothic-esque rock band will be rocking at the Rave later this month, presumably playing songs from across their now nearly 25-year career.

Slash

When? Thursday, July 25th, at 7 pm
Where? The Pabst Theater, 144 E Wells St, Milwaukee WI

Slash, best known for being the former lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses and boasting his iconic aviator shades, top hat, and Gibson Les Paul, will be shredding it up at The Pabst Theater. He’s also made a lot of tunes outside of GNR, which are likely to be prominently displayed.

Wu-Tang Clan

When? Saturday, August 3rd at 7:30 pm
Where? The Riverside Theater, 116 W. Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee WI

The classic, revolutionary hip-hop group known for their uncompromising, rugged, creative lyrical barrages that draw on a wide variety of influences, will be coming to the Riverside Theater at the beginning of August. Be warned: these guys aint nothin’ to… well, you know the rest.

John Mayer

When? Tuesday, August 6th, at 7:30 pm
Where? Fiserv Forum, 1111 Vel R. Phillips Ave, Milwaukee WI

Taking a break from his ongoing gig playing with some surviving members of the Grateful Dead in Dead & Company, this is your chance to see the dreamy singer/guitarist serenade the audience with his own original material.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

When? Friday, August 23rd at 7 pm
Where? The Riverside Theater, 116 W. Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee WI

See the trippy, prolific band from Australia rock out and blow minds at the Riverside Theater this August. The web description promises the show will deliver “hypnotically winding riffs and the overall sense that the entire audience is being swallowed whole.”
