What is Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE? Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE is an umbrella term that the automaker uses to cover a series of advanced safety technologies developed in line with Mazda proactive safety. I-ACTIVSENSE  includes active safety features that support safer driving by helping the driver to recognize potential hazards. The pre-crash safety technologies help to avoid collisions or reduce their severity in they are unavoidable. Here are some of the main active safety features that Mazda offers and how they each work.  

Radar Cruise Control with Close Proximity Warning:

By setting the preset vehicle speed, the available Mazda radar cruise control will work within a set speed range to help maintain safe distance between you and the preceding vehicle, down to 19 mph.

Smart City Brake Support:

This system helps minimize or prevent frontal collisions when driving between 2 and 18 mph by automatically applying the brakes if it determines that a collision with an obstruction ahead is unavoidable.

Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring:

This system will alert you if a vehicle or object is in one of your blind spots and it is unsafe to change lanes.

Smart Brake Support with Collision Warning:

This feature will help minimize or prevent frontal collisions when driving at speeds of 10 mph or faster. The system automatically applies the brakes if it determines that a collision with an obstruction ahead is unavoidable.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert:

Alerts you if a vehicle approaches from the side when you’re backing out of a parking space or driveway.

Lane Departure Warning System:

If the system sense the car drifting unintentionally from its current lane at speeds of 44 mph or higher it will alert you.

Adaptive Front-Lighting System:

The system turns the headlight beams to improve visibility around corners.

High Beam Control:

Switches from high to low beams when it detects oncoming traffic or a vehicle ahead.

Forward Obstruction Warning:

When driving 10 mph or faster, if the system detects possible obstructions ahead it will alert the driver to brake or take evasive action.
