Changes to the 2019 Jetta
There are a few changes to the Jetta you’re going to like, and then a few you’ll absolutely love. For starters, the newest Jetta comes in five different trim options. Those are the S, SE, SEL, and SEL Premium, and R-Line. The 1.4L turbo engine is the same as last year, getting 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque while the 6-speed manual transmission is the standard (don’t worry, the 8-speed automatic is still available).

Exterior changes will have the Jetta looking a little sharper, starting with the longer wheelbase, wider track, and larger wheels. Despite being a compact sedan, the 2019 Jetta may appear more like a coupe given the shorter overhang on the front and sharper slope on the rear roofline. Other additions to the interior include a redesigned touchscreen and center console, customizable TFT display behind the steering wheel, and BeatsAudio, a more interactive interior audio system that is a first for any car in the US.
