Changes to the 2019 Tiguan

What’s New in the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Volkswagen redesigned the Tiguan in 2018, and with it we saw a much-needed facelift as well as added cargo space and plenty of impressive interior features. With that in mind, it probably won’t come as much of a surprise that the German automaker didn’t make any incredibly-drastic changes for the 2019 model year. However, that’s not to say you won’t find some interesting changes. Take a look at what’s new in the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan here on our blog!

Changes to the 2019 Tiguan

There are two interesting changes to the 2019 Tiguan. The first is the price. There isn’t much of a difference from 2018 compared to 2019, except for the fact that Volkswagen actually decreased the starting MSRP for the base trim. You can now get the 2019 Tiguan for just $24,295, which is less than the 2018 Tiguan which started at $24,595.

The second most notable change is in regard to trim levels. The 2018 Tiguan four trim levels to choose from, while the 2019 Tiguan has six. Trim levels, from lowest to highest, include:

  • S
  • SE
  • SEL
  • SEL R-Line®
  • SEL Premium
  • SEL Premium R-Line®

Front wheel drive comes standard on the first four trims with 4Motion® all-wheel drive available in those and standard in the SEL Premium and SEL Premium R-Line® trims. The alarm system will now be standard on the SE and above trims (previously standard on SEL and above trims) while the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit and Park Distance Control are standard on SEL and above trims (previously standard on SEL Premium and above trims).

If you’re looking for a perfect family vehicle, the 2019 Tiguan is a good bet.
