Oktoberfest at Heidelberg Park at The Bavarian Bierhaus

The oldest and most authentic Bavarian Oktoberfest is held right in Glendale Wisconsin which is just minutes away from downtown Milwaukee. The Oktoberfest is modeled just like the one held in Munich, Germany and is held every September on the four weekends following Labor Day. There is music, dancing, singing, yodeling, and much more going on every weekend. The Oktoberfest 2016 Milwaukee, WI is held on September 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 30 and October 1. The times for Oktoberfest are Fridays from 5pm to midnight and Saturdays from noon to midnight. There is free admission all Friday nights for firefighters, police, active duty military and veterans. Admission is $5 and there is free parking.  

This Oktoberfest event is a great event for the whole family. The main festivities take place at the Bavarian Fest Garten which is an Alpine style pavilion equipped with weather curtains on the open sides. There are picnic tables and benches which seat up to 2,000. There is also open green space and an area for children to play. The main reason why most come out to the Oktoberfest celebrations is for the authentic German food and drink. Enjoy broiled chicken, bratwurst, pretzels, hot dogs, sweet roasted almonds, strudel, other German desserts as well as wine, soft drinks and plenty of beer. There is also traditional German gifts and souvenirs sold at the park.
