2018 Labor Day Weekend Events Milwaukee WI
Labor Day is seen by many as the last day of summer before things get more serious with fall coming. With that in mind, Labor Day weekend is a great opportunity to take advantage of the extra day to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. If you’re in the area and looking for something to do, we’ve highlighted a few of the 2018 Labor Day weekend events happening in Milwaukee WI!
Who doesn’t like a big dish of barbeque? If that sounds like you, you might like the Big Gig BBQ taking place at Henry Maier Festival Park. All the best BBQ joints in Milwaukee will be present, serving up their best dishes while live bands play. There’s even a bacon eating contest!
Perhaps you’re more into the traditional scene. Attend the free Laborfest event in Downtown Milwaukee. There will be a parade at 11 a.m. leading to the Summerfest grounds, where spectators and attendees can enjoy a classic car show, live music, food, and plenty of other entertainment options.
If you’re a big-time athlete, you might like what’s offered at the Wisconsin Highland Games. Fair warning: it’s not your traditional pick-up basketball or football game. The games will include highland dancing, axe-throwing, piping and drumming, fencing, and more. The event includes Celtic dogs that you may pet and plenty of food and drink vendors on site to keep you refreshed and energized.
One of the perks of Milwaukee is that there’s always something for everyone to do. Labor Day weekend brings with it even more, so we highly encourage you to get out of the house for the unofficial last weekend of summer and have a fun time with family and friends!
