Each 2020 Mazda3 is powered by a 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine. It produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Excluding the Mazda3 Hatchback Premium FWD, every Mazda3 model has a six-speed automatic transmission. The Preferred and Premium trims also get all the features from the Base and Select models. Some notable features that carry over include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, among many others.
The Preferred trim gets an infotainment and comfort boost. On the infotainment side of things, the Preferred trim adds SiriusXM satellite radio functionality, as well as a premium 12-speaker Bose audio system. Heated front seats are added at this level, as is an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
The Premium trims tops out the Mazda3 lineup with some fittingly premium additions. Most noticeably, the synthetic leather is switched out for genuine leather upholstery. The cabin also gets some more natural light with a sunroof. Other new features include adaptive headlights and a heads-up display. As previously mentioned, the Mazda3 Hatchback variant of this trim is the only model in the lineup to have a manual transmission option.
