Often, choosing the trim you’ll be getting your next vehicle in is one of the hardest decisions to make when purchasing your new vehicle. Is such-and-such feature worth x-dollars? Those features look nice, but are they necessary? Do I want the base engine or the upgraded one? Do I need AWD or is FWD fine?

While we can’t decide for you, we can compile all that info in one place. Here’s a comparison of the 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport SE and SE with Technology.

Shared Features

The SE and SE w/ Tech are the second and third trim of the 2020 Atlas Cross Sport, respectively. That means they both inherit all the features available on the base S trim. Each base model Atlas Cross Sport comes with 18-inch wheels, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot, forward collision mitigation, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

SE

The SE comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that pumps out 235 horsepower. It also includes the keyless entry and ignition, faux leather upholstery, heated front seats, an upgraded 8.0-inch touchscreen, and a power liftgate. The SE can be bought in one of two variants, FWD or AWD:

  • SE - $33,945
  • SE 4MOTION - $35,845

SE with Technology

The SE w/ Tech package is where you as a potential buyer get a lot more choices. Every SE w/ Tech comes with all the features from the S and SE trims, while also adding remote start, 20-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, and rear seating power outlets. While the SE only has two powertrain choices, the SE w/ Tech has multiple. Take a look:

  • SE w/ Tech - $35,945
  • V6 SE w/ Tech - $37,345
  • SE w/ Tech & 4MOTION - $37,845
  • V6 SE w/ Tech & R-Line - $38,745
  • V6 SE w/ Tech & 4MOTION - $39,245
  • V6 SE w/ Tech, 4MOTION, R-Line - $40,645

The V6 option produces 276 horsepower. The available R-Line package only adds styling changes: black-accented bumpers, R-Line badging, stainless steel pedal covers, R-Line 20-inch wheels.
