Shared Features

The 2020 Tiguan comes in four trims: S, SE, SEL, and SEL Premium. Every 2020 Tiguan is powered by a 186-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. FWD is standard, but AWD is available. Standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot. Standard safety features are blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, and a rearview camera. The SE trim upgrades the base touchscreen to an 8-inch one, adds HD and satellite radio, push-button start, and proximity keyless entry. The SE also gets dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats.

SEL Features

The 2020 Tiguan SEL adds many advanced features to the mix. Remote start, a power liftgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a heated steering wheel, the Digital Cockpit multi-informational gauge display, and integrated navigation are all standard. Newly-added safety features include rain-sensing windshield wipers, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist.

SEL Premium Features

The 2020 Tiguan SEL Premium is downright luxurious. It inherits everything from all the trims before it. For the SEL Premium, the synthetic leather is swapped out for genuine leather upholstery. The standard audio system is upgraded to a premium Fender one. Adaptive headlight with auto high beams, a surround-view parking camera system, and lane departure warning are all standard too. The SEL Premium is the only Tiguan that comes standard with AWD.
