Powertrain and Performance

There are two available engines for the 2021 Atlas. The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Previous turbo-four Atlas models only had FWD. The 2021 Atlas gets access to both drivetrains, however. FWD turbo-four models get 21-city/24-highway mpg. The AWD variants get 20-city/24-highway mpg. The trusty 3.6-liter V6 returns, pumping out 276 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. FWD V6 models get 17-city/23-highway mpg and the AWD V6 models get 16-city/22-highway mpg. Every 2021 Atlas has an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Safety Suite

Every 2021 Atlas has a comprehensive standard safety suite. Included in it are forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, automatic rain-sensing wipers, and a rearview camera. There are more driver assistive aids available as well, such as traffic-jam assist, a surround-view parking camera system, adaptive cruise control, and hands-free parallel park assist.

Infotainment and Comfort

The 2021 Atlas makes your commute comfortable and engaging. Standard smartphone integration includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, as well as Bluetooth capability and an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot. All of which is controlled from the standard 6.5-inch touchscreen. You can also expect remote keyless entry, LED headlights, and heated side mirrors (a favorite for our harsh Wisconsin winters). Comfortable turns to luxurious as you climb the trims, with added features including leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, second-row captain’s chairs, a bigger touchscreen, and more.
