The 2021 Tiguan has plenty of infotainment features to keep you connected. Standard features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot, Car-Net® remote services capability, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, and a USB port. Higher trims also carry more upgrades with them, such as an 8-inch touchscreen, the VW Digital Cockpit, integrated navigation, rear-row USB ports, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a premium Fender audio system, among others.

Safety Features

With the potential for three rows' worth of passengers, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan puts safety first. Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection are standard, as is blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert. A rearview camera is also standard. Similar to the connectivity suite, higher trims bring more driver assistive features with them. Upgrades include lane departure warning with lane keep assist, a surround-view parking camera system, adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlights, and automated high beams.

Powertrain Options

Every 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. It produces 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a refined and smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. FWD is standard on the S, SE, SE R-Line, and SEL, though 4MOTION® AWD is available. The top-of-the-line SEL Premium trim, however, comes standard with 4MOTION® AWD. FWD Tiguan modes get 23/29/25 mpg. Their AWD counterparts are EPA-estimated at 21/27/24 mpg.
