All 2025 Tiguan models are powered by a 2.0L TSI® DOHC 16-valve turbo 4-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. While the engine remains consistent, performance figures vary slightly depending on the drivetrain:

• FWD Trims: Deliver 201 horsepower and 207 ft-lbs. of torque.

• 4MOTION® Trims: Offer the same 201 horsepower but boost the torque to 221 ft-lbs.

The S, SE, and SE R-Line® Black trims offer both FWD and 4MOTION® options. For those seeking ultimate capability, the top-tier SEL R-Line® comes standard with 4MOTION® all-wheel drive, which includes Active Control, Driving Mode Selection, and Eco mode. Additionally, all trims feature an Engine Start-Stop System and electro-mechanical power steering with variable assistance for a smooth driving experience.
