Hall Mazda’s CX-50 Giveaway: How a Single Idea Became a $402,961 Commitment to Fighting Cancer

December 23rd, 2025 by

In December 2025, Hall Mazda and the This Time Tomorrow Foundation reached a milestone that captured the attention of the entire community: the giveaway of a fully donated 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid—the culmination of a decade-long commitment to helping families facing cancer.
The giveaway wasn’t a one-off gesture. It was the result of ten years of intentional giving, steady growth, and a belief that business can—and should—be used to make a meaningful difference.

The 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid Giveaway

In April 2025, Charlie Hall donated a 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid with an MSRP of $39,785 to This Time Tomorrow to be raffled as a major fundraiser. Hall Mazda also covered the cost of professionally wrapping the vehicle and producing promotional content to support the campaign.
Because the vehicle was completely donated, every dollar raised through the raffle went directly to the Foundation.
  • 693 raffle tickets sold
  • $100 per ticket
  • $69,300 raised
  • 100% of proceeds donated to the This Time Tomorrow Foundation

To amplify the reach of the campaign, Hall produced a feature video starring Charlie Hall alongside Greg Marcus, CEO of The Marcus Corporation.

Taking the Message on the Road

Throughout 2025, the CX-50 served as a rolling symbol of hope and generosity, appearing at major community events, including:
  • The Wisconsin State Fair
  • The Milwaukee Marathon
  • The Milwaukee Mile
  • A local sporting clays charity event
  • Numerous other community gatherings
One of the most memorable moments came at the Marcus Majestic Theater in Waukesha, where the vehicle was displayed for a full week. During that time, the CX-50 video played before movies at multiple Marcus theaters across the Milwaukee area—turning Charlie Hall into an unexpected (and well-earned) local celebrity while dramatically increasing awareness of the Foundation’s mission.

December 20, 2025: A Moment That Defined the Mission

On December 20, Hall Mazda hosted a community open house to celebrate the raffle drawing. The event included food, music, door prizes, and one powerful surprise.
During the event, This Time Tomorrow delivered a live Random Act of Kindness (RAK)—one of the Foundation’s most impactful programs. A RAK provides immediate financial assistance to someone battling cancer, including:
  • A personal visit
  • Foundation gear
  • $5,000 check to help ease the financial burden
At 3:30 PM, the raffle drawing took place, and the winner of the 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid was selected, bringing the campaign to a meaningful close.

How We Got Here: The Drive Out Cancer Story

A Purpose-Driven Beginning (2015)

Hall Mazda’s relationship with This Time Tomorrow began in 2015 with a simple but powerful idea: Charlie Hall wanted to use the business to help make a meaningful difference for families facing cancer.
That vision led to the creation of Drive Out Cancer, a fundraising campaign designed to turn everyday business activity into direct community impact.
              “50 for 50”
The original campaign pledged:
  • $50 for every vehicle sold
  • $1 for every service repair order
  • Over 50 days
In its first year, Drive Out Cancer raised $12,289, plus a $1,500 event sponsorship, proving the idea had staying power.

Building Momentum (2016–2020)

From 2016 through 2020, Drive Out Cancer continued annually. Over those five years, Hall Mazda raised and donated $142,637, firmly establishing the campaign as a long-term commitment—not a one-time initiative.

Raising the Bar (2021–2024)
In 2021, after a strong business year, Charlie Hall increased the contribution to $100 for every vehicle sold, explaining simply:
“We had a pretty good year, and we should do what we can.”
From 2021 through 2024, that decision resulted in an additional $181,524 donated to This Time Tomorrow.

The Impact, by the Numbers
  • Hall Mazda contributions since 2015 (including vehicle donation): $373,456
  • Raffle proceeds raised by the Foundation: $69,300
  • MSRP of donated vehicle: $39,785
Total net impact of Charlie Hall’s generosity: $402,961
More Than a Giveaway
What began as a modest “50 for 50” idea has grown into a decade-long partnership generating more than $400,000 in support for families facing cancer. The 2025 CX-50 giveaway wasn’t the end of the story—it was the latest chapter in a commitment that continues to evolve.
Hall Mazda is proud to stand alongside This Time Tomorrow and grateful to the customers, employees, and community members who made this journey possible.
