2017 Mazda CX-5 Engine Options and Specs

Front-wheel drive is standard on the CX-5 but Mazda’s predictive i-ACTIV® all-wheel drive is available on all trim levels. Mazda’s all-wheel drive system is predictive which means it reads the road, engine, transmission, weather, windshield wiper use and other conditions more than 200 times per second to determine torque transfer. It uses 27 different sensors that feed to a central control module to determine how wheels need to be driven.
