Volkswagen has announced their new seven-passenger SUV will be the VW Atlas and will be released as a 2018 model. The 2018 VW Atlas will be available with the choice of two powertrains, a 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct-injection TSI four-cylinder engine with 238 horsepower or a 3.6-liter VR6 engine with 280 horsepower. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed transmission to help maximize engine efficiency and the Atlas can be configured as either front-wheel drive or with available 4Motion all-wheel drive in VR6 trims.
